Rhyming Redsong: Matthew 9.1-8 (Jesus heals the paralytic man)
Then Jesus stepped into a boat, o’er, crossed,
and came to his own town. Some men, him, brought
a man who, on a mat, lie paralyzed.
When Jesus, how great was their faith, real’ized,
he, to the man, said, “Take heart, son; your sins
are now forgiven.” Some of them, at this,
to themselves, said (the teachers of the law),
“This fellow blasphemes!” Knowing of their thoughts,
said Jesus, “Why do you, inside, hearts, your,
thoughts, evil, entertain? What’s easier:
to say, ‘Forgiven, they are, all your sins,’
or to say, ‘Get up, now, and walk again’?
But I want you to know, the Son of Man,
authority to, sins, forgive, he has,
on earth.” So he said to the par’lyzed man,
“Get up, go home, and with you take your mat.”
Then he got up and went directly home.
The crowd, when they saw this, with awe, o’erflowed;
they praised God for such pow’r, on man, bestowed.
