Psalm 138

Psalm 138

I’ll praise you, LORD, with all my heart; before
those other “gods” I’ll sing your praise. Toward
your holy temple, I’ll bow down and praise,
for both your faithfulness and love, your name,
for you have so exalted your decree,
that solemn one, surpasses all your fame.
When I called out, to my cries, answering,
your answer greatly has emboldened me.
May all the kings of earth give you their praise,
O LORD, when they hear those decrees you state.
May they sing of the LORD’s ways, for it’s great,
the glory of the LORD. Exalted, he,
the LORD, but ne’ertheless, he kindly sees,
looks on the lowly; though he lofty, sits,
he sees them from afar. Though in the midst
of trouble that is where I walk, my life,
what you preserve. Your outstretched hand will strive
against the anger of my foes; with your
right hand you save me. Vindicate for sure,
the LORD will, me; your love endures fore’er,
LORD, don’t abandon works your hands have paired.
